I'm leaving Twitter
I have low tolerance to hear people talk about money all the time.
I’m interested more in peace of mind and happiness from within wherever in life. Whether the poorest and the richest condition in your life. If you are the one that always places your mind at peace (have secure within), it does not matter anymore how much you make or what material things you will possess.
I have been living in two different worlds throughout my lifetime. One is poor life (that’s what most people call but I perceive it differently and I’ll be sharing later.) And one is a rich life. All of that they do, look behind your bank account and properties.
…
I.
I joined Twitter in January 2021. My first purpose in joining it is to create a place for fans of my writing. In case, someone wants to talk about my book or my writing, share and share experiences. As it is called ‘social media’ hence it is for socializing with people.
My nature though, always enjoy solitude. Also, one thing is that I care about people’s opinions and listen to what they have to say. I don’t have a negative impression of my own trait. Only I admire it a lot. But in online social media is different.
You socialize with people you do not really know and as the algorithm works (differently with the difference of media). When people like or comment on other’s people opinions, you will also see those reactions on your feed. Not only the accounts that you follow.
I find it good for marketing, truthfully. Imagine if you market about your business, when people act on your post, either 100 or 1,000 people see your post. That will make it spread fastly this way (that Twitter provides).
It’s good if you’re the creator and not a consumer.
…
My personal experience on Twitter though. I’m usually not sticking to my phone and not on Twitter regularly enough to post all the time. Plus, my nature of thinking. I like to ponder long and quietly. And I don’t make a fast conclusion that things have to be this way or this way alone. So 160 characters post on tweet did not suit my kind of writing or expression of my thought.
Let’s say that, I don’t put enough effort into shortening my thoughts into 160 characters post.
It’s like a quote, it’s short. That also means different people will have a different interpretation of that message depends on their minds and perspectives.
Though the message delivers fast to the audiences. That also means whenever they use your word for false accusation. That becomes a big problem and fastly spread as well.
…
II.
My pace is slow.
That’s all I know and I love it.
…
The energy on Twitter though is fast, direct, and rigid.
As most of the users are male. And they have a little bit different in energy they spread.
I like how ambitious and work toward greatness. At the same time, the hidden character in that place is the ego. Some have low, some high. Though the community is strong, and that turns the low ego into a high ego man.
What happens is that some people do less but talk big. And it works well and great for marketing. Because they teach you to be confident. It’s actually the right thing to do, be confident of what you do.
…
All people (in my algorithm right now) talk about is success, money, properties. I don’t say I’m not interested. But it’s a minor of my interest.
My opinion is that this is not supposed to be the major topic to talk about all day every day 24/7. Because that also tells us that we are lacking. That’s why people are chasing it.
As far as I know, none of the healthy minds chase money. Happy people do not chase such material things.
…
Now I have two choices to make about Twitter.
1) To leave it alone.
2) Find a new group of people to follow and find friends from there.
But one thing I know for sure is my strength. After wandering on the internet I became to know that I never stick on any type of social media long enough. I’m just one of the people who enjoy real life more than online social media. That’s why it’s hard for me to keep posting and taking care of it.
My strength: I like to reflect my thoughts into my writing. Hence I would focus on my writing and post it on my blog as to where I started. That’s my thing. Plus, blogging does not require much of social media skill only be authentic you. Express your opinion the way you think and who you are.
The great thing about blogging is if people like your work, they will love to follow your work (not you, nothing personal, or maybe later they know you more and start to like your personality. But that is not the first point that you’re blogging.) That’s why you do not need much of a online socialization skill building your blog. And please, do not confuse between social skills (interpersonal skill) in real life and online. Wherever you go, whatever you do, you will still need social skill and it’s always great to build it in your own style. I just do my socialization better offline. (And I also choose who I want to connect with.)
