Meditation is here and now
To meditate is to be here where you are now.
…
I’m talking about your mind.
As you are reading this message. Your mind is on this screen, on these letters, words, and ideas.
Now you are thinking about what this article will bring you.
It brings you nothing, only the message that you are reading and that telling you that your mind is with this message now.
…
Ok, that is the example of your mind focus on the message. If you do not understand what it’s written. It means your mind is not here. It is with something else.
Stop reading and calm down. Look into yourself, where does it go. Observe it. Be quiet and let it plays. You only to observe it…
…
You will see that when you see it. It wanted to shy away. The nature of our mind is shy. It does not like to be watched. It likes to hide.
…
Now if you want to have the power of controlling your mind instead of it controls you to go where you do not want to go.
Start to train it.
Find the job for your mind. That is to meditate.
…
Meditation has many forms.
You can meditate while working, walking, sleeping, eating, whatever activities you are doing you can always meditate.
But the Buddhists start practicing meditates by sitting and watch their breath.
It is the easiest to train your mind to focus on one thing long enough (sitting in a lotus post is the most relaxed posture and you can sit as long as you want to) to settle it down peacefully.
After your know how the mind works with sitting-meditation. You can advance by walking meditation. And meditate on duties. It’s the same principle that is to focus on what you do at that moment. Your mind should be in the present and in harmony with your actions.
Hene, meditate is here and now.
